My Story:

In college I was a goal-oriented, type A student striving to go to medical school because I wanted to help people and was fascinated with the human body. I was extremely hard-working, over-achieving and a total people-pleaser. I said “yes” to every leadership role I was offered or leading up group projects and more. However, what I didn’t realize was that I was saying “no” to taking care of myself. It didn’t take long until I was burnt out, overweight and stressed to the max. It’s a long story of how I went from a pre-med student to a full-time yoga teacher but let’s just say I woke up one day and realized this is how I needed to help people.  Yoga changed me. It taught me the importance in taking care of myself so that I could take care of others. I learned how to slow down, be more compassionate toward myself and establish a life-work balance. Now all my drive and efforts go into helping my fellow over-achievers and time-crunched professionals experience the benefits of yoga on and off the mat.

B.S. in Public Health from East Carolina University

200-hour Yoga Alliance Certified Teacher from Wilmington Yoga Center

Over 1000 hours teaching experience in group class and private yoga instruction

500-hour Yoga Teacher Training through Cyndi Lee

30-hour Yin Yoga Training with Corena Benner

30-hour Science of the Private Lesson with Francesca Cervero

15-hour Yoga Meets Science Workshop with biomechanist, Jules Mitchell
